Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Matt Ricketts
With nearly 25 years of experience across commercial real estate banking, capital markets and finance, Matt is an accomplished senior executive and trusted advisor to real estate lenders, REITs and private equity firms.
Most recently, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Wells Fargo's Commercial Real Estate division, helping oversee the financial management and strategic direction of one of the world's largest CRE lending and CRE capital markets platforms. In this role, he partnered closely with senior leadership to shape strategy, optimize capital allocation and drive disciplined financial performance across the business.
Throughout his career, Matt has advised clients and internal stakeholders on complex financial and strategic decisions. As Managing Director and East Region Head of Wells Fargo's REIT Finance Group, he led corporate banking coverage for numerous public real estate companies and sponsors, originating and executing global scale financings. He is known for his ability to connect capital strategy with broader business objectives and market positioning.
Matt also brings experience navigating periods of stress and transformation. During the global financial crisis, he led restructuring and resolution strategies for distressed commercial real estate loans, focusing on value preservation and recovery optimization.
Across roles, he has been recognized for simplifying complex financial information, establishing effective management routines and enabling informed decision-making at the executive and board-levels.
Matt is a frequent presenter to C-suites, boards of directors and national real estate and finance forums. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Outside of work, he is active in community leadership serving as Co-Development Chair on the board of Charlotte Family Housing and is a musician, performing as a guitarist in a local cover band.
